He said it is indeed a great and historic moment to have the distinct honour, in his capacity as the Municipal Chief Executive, to warmly welcome the distinguished delegation from the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI), led by their esteemed President, H.E. Mr. Ashokbhai Virjibhai Chodvadiya, popularly known as Ashok Jirawala on Monday 16th February 2026

The MCE mentioned that the visit of SGCCI to Asante Akyem Central marks far more than a ceremonial engagement; it represents the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at fostering investment, strengthening trade relations, and unlocking vast import and export opportunities between our business communities. The good people of Asante Akyem Central are ready and open to meaningful collaboration that will drive economic growth, job creation, and industrial development.

He state that in keeping with our cherished customs and traditions, he led the delegation to pay courtesy calls on our revered traditional authorities. They respectfully visited the Konongo and Odumase Palaces to engage with Ing. Nana Abedimisa II (Konongohene) and Nana Dr. Kofi Antwi III (Odumasehene and Nifahene of the Juaben Traditional Council). These engagements underscored the importance of traditional leadership in facilitating development and strengthening international partnerships within our municipality.

Subsequently, they convened at the Municipal Assembly Hall for a broader stakeholder meeting, which brought together traditional rulers, religious leaders, political leaders, members of the media, and our Honourable Member of Parliament, Hon. Lawyer Anyimadu Antwi. The discussions were fruitful and forward-looking, centered on the immense benefits this partnership with SGCCI will bring to Asante Akyem Central in the areas of trade, industry, technology transfer, skills development, and economic empowerment.
